He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6v8
Matt Winfield
For me this verse hits quite hard. At a time where God is a little fed up with his chosen people again, He explains what he has already asked of them. I still think this is what he wants of me today.
What does God require of Me!?
1. To act justly - To be fair, to be honorable in my interactions with those around me. Hopefully in a way that glorifies God
2. To love Mercy - We have been shown ultimate mercy through what Jesus did on the cross and rising three days later. What's not to love about that? The tricky bit is then to show it to others.
3. To walk humbly with MY God - I want to walk with the God who created me, I want to talk with the one who spoke and it came into being and like a small child, I want to sit and listen to what he has to say to me.
Thanks, Matt. Your thoughts are clear and challenging. I love the image of sitting like a small child eagerly waiting for God to explain things; lapping up every word. Vanessa
Thank you Matt this is one of my all time fav verses. Sometimes when life seems complex, it is really helpful to have just three clear things that we KNOW God wants us to do. If I focus on these things I should be on the right track.
Great verse Matt, what struck me reading it today was the only way to walk humbly with someone was to hold their hand (as a child would) and let them lead the way Helen
