Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said,“Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you.”
So we say with confidence,
“The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?”
Hebrews 13v5,6
Chris Price
I committed my life to Christ as a teenager on a Sunday morning when Max Sinclair was preaching. Shortly after he and his family had a very serious car accident resulting in him being at Stoke Mandeville Hospital for many months. Miraculously his two small children and wife were barely injured. His wife knelt in the broken glass strewn across the car seats and as she held his head and waited for the paramedics she repeatedly recited these verses to her husband. In her state of shock these words were crystal clear in her head and they are the only memory Max ever regained of the moments immediately after the head on crash with the car that approached at speed on the wrong side of the road. Verses committed to memory serve us well at times when we most need to recall God's promises.
ReplyDeleteWhat an encouraging story,Chris, and an important lesson in life to learn. In our hour of greatest need when there is nothing else to hold onto it is wonderful how the Word of God comes to our rescue and brings such comfort.
