Day 3

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:38-39

  1. My Dad used to give me verses to memorise. This is how a couple of them were such a great blessing to me.

Poor Dad became seriously ill mentally before he died and in the process seemed to turn right away from the Lord. On his last day of life here I tried to remind him of the love of Jesus and he just turned away. This troubled me a great deal but on my journey back from the nursing home the Lord reminded me of two very special verses which he taught me to memorise as a child: Romans 8:38-39.

The words "nor things to come" just jumped out at me! What a great comfort that was, and always will be!

  2. These verses speak to me of the power of Christ and His absolute commitment to us. When life is tough the truth of these words are a real comfort. He is with us in every situation and does not stop loving us.

  3. I love the way these verses go through all sorts of possibilities, and then end with "nor ANYTHING else ..." That's pretty comprehensive!
